Micro Direct
The Micro H2
Summary

The Micro H2 is an innovative handheld Hydrogen monitor designed for simple screening of lactose or other sugars mal-absorption, bacterial overgrowth and the measurement of intestinal transit time in an office setting.

Combining accuracy and simplicity at an economical price, complete with calibration kit and Hydra software, the Micro H2 provides a fast and easy-to read display of expired Hydrogen levels in ppm. For adults or older children, exhaling slowly through the Micro H2 meter is all that is required to obtain a measurement. For young children unable to comply with the test, an optional gas sampling system is available.

Operating from a single 9v PP3 battery, the Micro H2 (Cat. No. MH04) is supplied complete with all accessories including calibration kit, Hydra PC software, face mask and a sturdy carry case.

Calibration gas
To achieve measurements of the greatest accuracy we recommend that the unit be calibrated on a regular basis. Micro Direct can supply calibration gas (100 ppm H2 in Nitrogen) complete with a control valve (Cat. No. MH15) for simple and economic user calibration. The gas is supplied in convenient, disposable, aluminum aerosol cans containing 17 liters of gas. With this can approximately 10 calibrations of the Micro H2 meter can be readily achieved. Additional gas cans are also available (Cat. No. MH10).
Gas Sampling System

The optional gas sampling system (Cat. No. HHS 4413) is designed for very young children unable to comply with a straight forward single breath maneuver. The bag is filled with expired air remotely by using a one-way valve breath system and face mask. Once full, the bag is connected to the Micro H2 and the breath sample is expelled manually.

Hydra PC Software

Hydra is fully Windows compatible. Simply connect your Micro H2 to your PC with the supplied interface cable and run a real time test. You can select a commonly used H2 breath test protocol like Lactose intolerance, Intestinal transit time or Bacterial overgrowth from the database, enter the patient's details along with their symptoms, and Hydra will literally drive you through the test procedure. Hydra will complete the test process by automatically producing a professional report. Used in conjunction with the Micro H2, it will help you manage real-time multi-patient H2 sessions, and diagnose the results. As well as the many built-in protocols, HYDRA will accept customized protocols entered by the user .

The Micro H2 can be used stand alone or connected to your computer.
